The Xbox 360 is the second video game console created by Microsoft after the success of Xbox. It is part of the seventh generation of video game consoles and it competes with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii. Xbox 360 has many features like the “Live service” that allows players to compete online as well as download content such as arcade games, TV shows, trailers and movies. However, if you have experienced repeated freezing or even crashing while playing your games with Xbox 360, chances are your console has overheated. Many people have complained about overheating problems after having played there 360 for even a short period of time or some only a few hours after purchasing it. One reason for overheating would be inadequate airflow through the console. Having your 360 in an enclosed space will not allow cool air to circulate. Instead, keep the Xbox well-ventilated by placing it in an open space for this will help the unit stay cool and prevent overheating. Also, put the power source away from the Xbox as this gives off hot air. Limiting the number of hours you continuously use your Xbox 360 can also help. Don’t forget to turn it off when not in use and give it a 2-3 hour break after you've played with it for some time. This will allow the system to cool down before you start playing again. Aside from keeping it cool, remember to keep it clean. Dust accumulates inside the game console over time and this is another reason why an Xbox 360 will overheat. It would then be a good idea to clean the dust from inside your Xbox 360 every now and then as dust reduces the effectiveness of the fans that are there to cool the unit. Be sure to wipe the surrounding area too. If you follow these tips you should have NO problem with your Xbox 360 and enjoy it instead.
